Global citizenship is a key component of our middle school program. The academy focuses on integrating STEAM education with global awareness to nurture well-rounded, forward-thinking individuals prepared to tackle complex global challenges.

This focus will culminate in a school trip to Costa Rica, allowing students to experience the country's rich culture and biodiversity firsthand.

The trip will immerse students in various facets of Costa Rican life. The itinerary includes:

  • A visit to a sustainable coffee plantation

  • Exploring Sarchí, known for its colorful arts and crafts

  • Ziplining on a Monteverde Canopy Tour

  • Visiting a local school, offering a chance for cultural exchange and language practice

  • Relax in the area's famous hot springs at Arenal Volcano’s base

  • Hike through Arenal Volcano's closest private reserve

  • Participate in a community reforestation service project and plant Indigenous trees

  • Cook Costa Rican food in a cooking lesson

  • A visit to a local cacao plantation focused on sustainable and community-minded production of chocolate products

This immersive experience will allow students to apply their classroom learning to real-world situations, fostering intercultural competence and global awareness. The trip will serve as a practical extension of the academy's project-based learning approach, addressing real-world issues aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
