A microschool for neurodivergent students ages 9–15 learning at the middle‑grades level.
Wander Through Wonder Academy is intentionally designed for neurodivergent students ages 9–15 learning at the middle‑grades level. Small class sizes, predictable routines, and flexible supports create an environment where learners can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally without being pulled from the experiences that make school meaningful.

Students are assessed using standards‑based grading, which provides clear insight into what they’ve mastered and what they’re still developing. Instead of letter grades, learners receive specific, actionable feedback that supports growth, builds confidence, and helps families understand progress with greater clarity.
Our program blends curiosity‑driven learning with rigorous academic expectations aligned to middle‑grade standards. Students build strong foundations in writing, math reasoning, executive functioning, and project‑based inquiry—ensuring they are fully prepared for the demands of high school while still learning in a supportive, personalized environment.

STEAM learning integrates science, technology, engineering, arts, and math to help students think creatively, solve problems, and explore how the world works. Global Citizenship expands that lens, encouraging learners to understand diverse perspectives, engage with their community, and develop the empathy and responsibility needed to navigate an interconnected world.
Parents play an active role in shaping the learning experience at Wander Through Wonder Academy. Families are invited to join field trips, lead workshops, share professional expertise, attend student showcases, and contribute ideas that enrich our programs. This collaborative approach strengthens relationships, deepens learning, and ensures every student feels supported by a community that extends beyond the classroom.
Students engage with the world through weekly field trips, community service projects, guest speakers, and global connections. Whether exploring museums, meeting innovators, or collaborating with international partner schools, learners experience education that is hands‑on, relevant, and rooted in curiosity. These experiences help students build confidence, empathy, and a deeper understanding of the world around them.
Wander Through Wonder Academy is part of a growing movement of small, student‑centered schools gaining national attention for their ability to personalize learning and foster autonomy. Leading organizations and publications highlight microschools as a powerful alternative to traditional models—offering flexibility, strong relationships, and meaningful, project‑based learning. Our approach aligns with this vision, giving students the space to explore, create, and thrive.
Capped at just 28 students to ensure every learner is deeply known and supported.
Each student receives custom‑built learning plans shaped by their needs, level, and interests.
Student schedules are tailored to their needs, preferences, and appointments, including therapy, so they stay on track without missing academics or activities.
Flexible structures and supports replace the traditional model where neurodivergent students are pulled from classes and expected to catch up later.
Students access academics, arts, tech, and enrichment without losing time to interventions or outside appointments.
Because appointments are built into the day, students keep full access to classes and enrichment without make‑up work or lost opportunities.
